OK,

I woke up this morning at six thirty for no particular reason.  Well, that I know about anyway.  I couldn't get back to sleep so I did what I've done a zillion times before in my life; I turned on the TV.  There was a short movie on from MGM from back in the day.  It was Scrooge in about five minutes.  I'm sure it was snippets of a longer movie they made.  Anyway, after the Scrooge bit, they went into an advertisement for the movie KISMET.  There's a word you don't hear every day, right?  Anywyay, the guy holds up a record album (for you kids that are too young, CDs used to be called albums or records or both) of the soundtrack of this particular film.  Then they cut to a scene from the movie.  I wasn't feeling it so I changed the channel for a minute then turned the thing off.

I don't think too much of things.  I mean that. I can't help but see the things I do.  You never know what each day will bring.  Keep that in mind.

I had to stop for gas.  I found myself face to face with an opportunity courtesy of a gal that used to be sweet on your intrepid reporter.  Apparently some people think I'm a catch.  Anyway, as I was walking into the sev, I walked right past the car with Oregon plates backing up next to me.  I just laughed.  I see them all the time.  Usually with my friend from Oregon but all the time.  I'm used to it.  The opportunity was that we did something nice for some folks a while back and the opportunity might present itself to repeat that.  It is the time for sharing, so sure.  We'll see what happens.

Anyway, that's not what the story is about.  I was on my way to see a friend from church and that's when KISMET became the word of the day.

How many cars are there in this damn state?  Well, I can tell you that only ONE has the license plate that says KISMET on it.  And I passed it.

The only way this story will get better is when I see the car with Oregon plates on it that says KISMET.  When I do, and it won't surprise me if it happens today, yours truly is pulling up the tent and heading west.
