Busy week

God always finds things for me to do when my life is really, really hard.  I get the opportunity to bless those that persecute me and hurt me.  I don't say that sarcastically.  It just seems like when I'm hurt, part of the healing process is lending a helping hand to the person that hurt me.  It's part of forgiveness, I think and a lesson I'm all too familiar with.  In this case it means doing something I said I would for Cindy although I'm certainly under no obligation to do so.

Aside from that, I'm usually really busy when life gets me down and this week is no exception.  Tuesday I have a VA appointment for my hearing loss.  There is a dental appointment someplace in there this week too.  And on Friday, I have an eye exam.

On Wednesday, I will have to go to work early because of a function at work on Thursday.  Friday and Saturday aren't mine, either because of mandatory overtime.  That's really a blessing this week.  I will be just a month behind where I wanted to be but I will finally be done with some financial things that will make my life a lot easier.

I could use some easier.  I couldn't sleep last night and I mean to tell you I'm really praying through some things right now.  When I finally decided to tap the radio on, I heard a radio program all about temptation.  I get up and talk with Miss June about some things on my heart and my mind and tell her about the whole thing.  She starts watching a show she recorded and it's all about giving in to temptation and why people do it when they know it's not good for them.

Yup, that really happened. In our Bible study at work, we're studying Abraham.  I fully expect to hear about his test tonight.   Prayers for wisdom and strength are appreciated.

Then there are the usual tasks.  My pool keeps wanting to turn green no matter how much chlorine I add to it.  I cleaned it out again this afternoon.  The garden is watered and Miss June has not one but two holes in the side of her foot again this morning.  She's on the bench and yours truly just added a ton of work to his to do list.  I got fired from the garden so I stayed out of it.  I went there this morning and it's a weedy mess.

All this drowning man needs today is for someone to come by and offer him a glass of water.

And there was one post-script to the whole Cindy thing.  The other guy, his name is Bob.  For reals.

If you're a regular reader and you're not laughing at that, you have no sense of humor.
