ewwww!
I learned this from a Marine: it all washes off with soap and water. That's probably true, but it doesn't make the task more pleasant.
The dryer is fully functional with the replacement of the light bulb. It was like burning out the light bulb was the last little jab at me, but it's fixed. I was so pleased that the laundry was done and put away, the dishes likewise. My house, for a bachelor, and the size of it is as clean as I can get it right now. There is much to be put away, but none of it is mine and its' owner is MIA. So, like I said, I was pleased with myself that my house is clean and then I opened the fridge.
The MIA one has a problem with hoarding. I do too, and I'll admit it, but mine is confined to the size of a small box and involves miscellaneous screws, nuts, nails, and washers. I have a box full of them. The hoarding thing though fills up two rooms in my house; the storage room and then a small bedroom. It's also spilled over into the coat closet and family room. What was in the laundry room is on a table waiting for the return of the immigrant.
The fridge though? Hoarding in the fridge? Yep. And today, I cleaned out the fridge. I'm gonna wait it out two more weeks and then I'm going to apply the same thing to the freezer. There was stuff in my fridge that I have no idea where it came from.
Well I have a pretty good idea where it came from but I'm gonna keep my mouth shut about it, except to say that just because something is free does not make it something you ought to have twenty of.
The fridge is cleaned and I had to fix a few things in it. Over the time I've lived here, it's been filled beyond capacity many times with similar loads of what I would call crap and the shelves show a lot of wear and tear. I have fixed what I can. A new one will have to wait for a couple of years though.
I'm glad I took the time. All of the moldy oldies have been tossed. The shelves are clean again and it's quite empty. That's not a bad thing. There's plenty of food in the house and it's just me, so it's not like it NEEDS to be full right now.
Well that's my story. Carpets clean. Toilets clean. Laundry done and folded. And no more eeewwwww in the fridge. Not a bad weekend.
