Cucumbers, Egypt, and other stuff.
Odd things happen to moi.
The other day we studied a passage from the book of Exodus at our Wednesday Bible study. That afternoon I saw a Facebook post with that very passage as the theme. I also saw a Nene about one of Jesus' I AM statements. That's the topic of our course of study four the next little bit.
I am paying attention.
I ran ahead of God a bit I think. I bought a used pool. It turned into an ordeal. It's nice though and I am grateful to have it
Wendi came up today to collect her mother and her tribe. Those kids are a handful. Sophia got mad because the other two children were helping me set up the pool after they had finished their cereal. Breakfast was on the patio. She smashed one of my good Pfaltzgraff dishes on the cement.
A trip to Walmart for plastic bowls fixed that problem. It was the start of a hectic day. I have a pool with a ladder. Getting there cost me $30 more than I had planned. Had I waited to hear back from a coworker, I could have saved some of that money.
I got the ladder in Wellsville. I drove the car and took it apart. It still didn't fit. I drove home to Ogden with parts of it hanging out the backseat window.
A coworker who lives six blocks from me had one he would have given me. The just got a new pool. He answered me back not more than two minutes after I had finished filling the pool.
Lesson learned.
I'm excited about church tomorrow. The topic of the sermon has to do with some stuff going on in my life. I'm really waiting on God to do something. I do know He's changing me and reminding me not to look back at and long for the past.
No longing for the cucumbers and leeks of Egypt. We're not going that way. Not going back to that bondage.
So far this weekend I set up the pool, did shopping, mowed the lawn, visited with two friends, cleaned up my mess in the garage, (Miss June cleaned up hers and sent stuff home with her daughter), made 3 batches of jam, fixed a sprinkler valve, and made a loaf of bread.
When Wendi was here I reminded her that she needed to do something with her cats. She told me again she couldn't take them because of her husband's dog. I asked her to find them a home then and she said she would. Wish I could keep them. They're great cats. But they aren't for me.
I am tired and my feet hurt.
Last story: at the grocery store and feel nudged to go to a specific self checkout lane. Obey and find a quarter in the floor and pennies in the change cup. More than four so probably from more than one person who paid with cash. They go into the missions jar.
I wrote this on my Kindle. Typing is easier.
