Making the best of what you have
For once, I am ready for my weekly Wednesday meeting before hand. I spent some time this morning reading my book and completing the corresponding lesson in the companion workbook. I won't have to do this tomorrow. I did this before getting ready to leave for work.
I had all of my things together for work. My shields for my glasses, my badge, my toolbox keys, and my wallet. What I forgot was that there was a car parked behind me and my roommate and I are now even. I called my insurance company and my boss. I didn't want the night off. Turns out I would need it.
This week started off with some thoughts about how things would go. Crazy but good crazy seemed to be the thought. Monday went all right. Tuesday though; well you can keep this day. I had to deal with issues with each of my roommates.
I mentioned about the car. That was all on me.
On Monday morning, I will be without one roommate. She's decided that it's in both our best interests that she leave sooner than later. I'm pleased we could talk about it tonight though. I must not be a bad guy because she's insistent that we remain friends. I think that's a doable thing.
My other roommate is facing a health issue. With Miss June, it's really a tough thing. I want to help her but I can't make her do anything. So I sent an e-mail to someone who hopefully can or will. She needs to stay off her feet. She won't because she thinks she has to take care of me. And everyone else.
This week's theme is about redeeming the time. I spent some time watching TV today, but not a lot. I spent some time looking at stuff online. I had a lot on my mind today. What was behind me in the driveway wasn't one of the things. That's all right, though. My roomie showed me some grace and will call the insurance company. My rates are gonna go up.
Anyway, without further distraction, back to redeeming the time. I heard a little Bible study on this last night. So today, I started doing something more productive with the time I had. There's always time for the work of the Lord, the man says. So I took some time to do my lesson for tomorrow today. Then I took some more time to do my Bible study lesson for Thursday. I prepared two, in case we get that far.
I also did some prep work for a little project we're working on for church. I put a bit of thought into it, too. That kept me reading scripture pretty much throughout the day. And when things got bad, I read some about....
redeeming the time.
It was the passage from the program last night.
I'm trying to redeem the time, even in the face of chaos. I spent some leave I didn't want to, but I made the best use of some of the time I had.
