Sunday towfer

I came within 30 seconds of not attending worship services this morning.  I'm exhausted, mentally and physically.  It's well beyond tired.  I'm exhausted and after I mow the lawn and vacuum out the pool I have to contend with changing the coolant in the truck.  It's full of brown gunk that may or may not require another head gasket change.

I don't care.  Why?  Because I went to church.

And I was blessed.  Here's why:

The movie I didn't make about the upcoming Heart of a Warrior conference was shown at the service and the movie is geared at younger men.  There were two young men who are facing struggles in the pews this morning who NEEDED to see THAT movie.  It's designed to appeal to them.  It's hip.  And I watched these two young men watch that movie.

Hope it works.

Did you buy your tickets yet?  After reading the last post, WHY NOT?!  GOD IS ALIVE!  Come worship and learn about growing as a godly man.  Our country and society NEEDS all the godly men it can get!  BUY a ticket and COME!

Oh yeah, the story... The sermon was about prayer.  And then we prayed, and we cried, and if you were in the pew and that message didn't touch your heart, you don't have one.  I would have missed out on being a part of today's worship.  I would have missed out on BEING the church.

I would have missed out on the opportunity to visit with a friend of mine at church.  I'm not the only one struggling with trying to figure out God's will.  I would have missed out on someone understanding the confusion I have and sharing with him.  We need to encourage one another and I would have missed out on that.  Scripture came to life today.  It was read at the beginning of the sermon and then put into practice, both during and after the worship service.

There's no mistaking that the Evil One is around.  Today's weapon of choice was to try and convince me that my truck needed more attention than God did.  I have a lot to do today and the truck became a priority when I took the radiator cap off and saw the brown sludgy mess that should be bright green coolant.  An oil change became a priority last night as well, but that got done before I went to bed.

I didn't listen and made time for God and that's where I found out God made time for me, too.  I have every faith that prayers for leadership in the matters on my heart were heard and are being answered.  I will know soon if this thing I wrote about earlier is from God.  I will have my answers soon because God blessed me with showing me how much the life I live today is wonderfully fulfilling.  He knows and I know that I'd like to have things in addition to, but nothing else in place of having HIM at the front and following Jesus to where I should be going.  If this thing is from God, I will know and if it's not, HE will make that clear because the choice I need to make has been made and reinforced in stone today.

When I have that answer, I will fill in every hole in detail.  I promise.

What I've learned lately, I'm trying to apply to the oddest thing I've ever faced.  I mean that.  Over the years I've learned that when you lose, it's best to lose and walk away.  But this time, walking away seems to be not part of the plan.  It's like being forced to watch as the decision you made has consequences you could never imagine, and having to watch them as they play out. At least I can laugh about it!

The papers say: DALE L COOPER IS NOT THE..... I had to laugh because it was my Maury moment.  I'm not making this up; they say it just like that in bold type and all capital letters, like they're shouting it from the rooftops! I wonder if all caps and bold type in legal documents have the same significance as capitalizing things in an e-mail. There's a story here about why God is always good and His timing is impeccable. I mentioned earlier I had to get a copy of my divorce decree for my employer so they can verify some information I provided to them.  That is gonna have to wait because I got some papers in the mail from the State of Utah who is stepping in to set aside a portion of my divorce decree so that it meets their needs.  They need to undo something that got done through no fault of my own. When I quit fighting the former(?) Mrs., it was this issue that I gave in on. So today, I get to send my employer the information I got in the mail and hopefully...

not that guy today!

As I drove up the circle the other day, I took a good look at my house and I decided I needed to change a few things. For far too long, I've been doing just what I needed to, to get by with keeping the lawn mowed and the garbage picked up, for the most part (except the mess in the back yard), but I saw some things I didn't like. For instance, one of my window screens fell out of the window.  Another was coming out of the frame.  I had a ladder out back I used to pick apricots.  That was in July.  My boat had a flat tire and was kind of starting to be a catch-all for this or that thing. No longer. The ladder is put away for the evening.  Tomorrow I have to get out the 20 footer to fix the other screen.  All of the junk is gone.  ALL of it.  I still have a couple of shelves to clean out and some cupboards to clean out and can do that this weekend.  But the non-working appliances, broken and disgusting furniture, and garbage is removed f...
