Chinks in your Armor?

The Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

I kinda have a word for you today:  Don't be afraid.

As Christians, we're called to be something more than those around us that don't believe, and one of those things is to be brave.  And while the world is changing so fast around us, this thing, as a lady whose ministry God uses to speak into my life reminded us the other day, has an expiration date.  God already knows the outcome, so let's not panic.

Let's be praying.  We can't meet together, but we can, and should, be praying for each other!  We can do what we can, where we can, with what we have!  Let's not be fearful of what will happen.  Yes, things are bad, but in bad times, we get to trust God and his promises in ways that we have never had to.

I said "get to."  Not have to.  God's promises are there for us, as believers, and in this time, we will need to rely on them in ways we've never had to.  We get to trust Him in hard times because He's allowed these hard times to come upon us.  Our faith through this is going to be tested.  We're going to feel like we're taffy in a taffy puller.  I understand that.  BELIEVE ME, I understand that!  But I also know that we're called to be different.  So let's be.

This, as our Government is telling us, is a war against and unseen enemy.  As believers, we fight an unseen enemy every day.  I believe this is a tool that enemy is using against us.  But like every tool, this, ultimately will fail.  Right now, in these times, it's more important than ever that believers are putting on the Armor of God.

Fear and panic will put chinks in your Armor, so make sure you're wearing it, and wearing it well.  Disappointments and hard times will be with us for a season, but that season will end.  If our Armor is intact, then we can deflect the firey darts of the enemy.  I'm not saying that we won't get sick.  We're in the world, so we need to heed what our leaders are telling us.  But what we don't need to do is let isolation turn into depression.  We can stay busy.  We can and need to spend some quality time with our King right now, but let's remember that He's King over all.  God the Father is still on the throne and the Spirit is still residing with us and in us.  In this time of trouble, let's remember who we are in Christ, and just as importantly, WHOSE we are!

Fear is a liar, kids.  Let's face this thing bravely, and moving forward in faith!
