It does now....
Life sometimes doesn't make sense. OK, frequently mine doesn't, but I operate with one truth in mind.... nothing comes my way without God's foreknowledge. It's either from, or allowed by, God Himself because He's in control. Letting go was hard, but as weird as my life is, and as bad as some things hurt (physically and emotionally), there's no way I want to go back to what it was before.
Here are some stories about how God works in my life.
I was asked to help with a Bible study class on Wednesdays for a group of men. I'm so blessed to be able to do that. Anyway, I put together the lesson for this week based upon an idea from one of the group about how simple the concept of Salvation is. I had an idea where I'd head with that topic and then I opened the mail on Monday. In it was a newsletter from BBN Radio and the lead article talked about Salvation being simple. I actually used one of the Scripture verses quoted in the article for my lesson. The right thing at the right time.
Coincidence? Hardly. Because things happen like that all the time. I'm sure they always have, but I think I'm just more in tune with how our Creator interacts with His creation. Jesus leads... I follow.
Another little thing that happened to me was that I ran into someone I hadn't seen in a few years today. It was someone who knew Wendi and I and knew what an egotistical, self-centered ass I used to be. I was blessed to run into her at the doctor's office. I got to share with her that I was helping with the Bible study and where it's at and asked her if she ever thought the first time she met me, that said activity was in the realm of possibility for me. She thought about it for a minute and said no. She's retired now, but I think it was good for her to know she had such an influence on me changing my life.
My back hurts. Badly. Up until a couple of hours, my back did not hurt but my right side from the top of my hip to the bottom of my foot, which was going numb, did. Apparently I have this thing called a sciatic nerve and apparently when you pinch it, all kinds of things start aching badly. It travels along the path where I had my knee surgery and continues south through the ankle surgery location.
It really hurts.
So the doc gets me in to the physical therapist, who gives me stim, heat, and ultrasound. They found the part in my back where this particular nerve starts at and put the 'lectric on it. I love that shock therapy thingie. Cindy used to have one. I miss Cindy. Today I miss Cindy and her TEMS box. Anyway during that enjoyable 15 minutes, there was a ginormous heating pad which felt good as well. And then, I met the traction machine.
"Ve have vays to make you talk....." I joked with the therapist's assistant. I told 'em I still wasn't gonna give up the missile codes. Mostly because I don't KNOW the missile codes, but it was my little way of being funny. I laughed anyway. I've been on rides at Disneyland that didn't strap you in as tight as they strapped me down to this sucker. And then, they stretched.
Now my back hurts.
Next came some stretches and the one stretch I did pulled on my knee, which now hurts.
My warranty must be up because everything is starting to fall apart.
I have a couple of other stories I can't tell, but they're also interesting stories about how God works in my life and in others' lives, too, but by now you know the drill. Ain't gonna say.
Well that's it for me. Have a blessed day.
