Glad to be here
I was just sitting here; mostly because the weather sucks today and there's nobody to play with. All my toys are at home and I never have appreciated the comfort and pleasure I take from knowing Buckaroo is just right there, or having one of the kitties jump up on my lap.
I miss my dog. I miss my Katie, too. And I know that sooner rather than later, I'll be permanently missing Bucky. He ain't as young as he used to be, but I love that dog. He's been such a blessing to me.
Did I mention I missed him?
I've really never been alone alone until this last week. I've chatted for a minute on the phone via messenger with a couple of people from home. I sent one of the guys I work with some pictures because he loves this area and he's a Dallas Cowboys fan. I see why he likes it here. The area is really nice, but it's not summer, and six billion degrees with 100% humidity, either.
It rained today. At about nine-thirty when I was having breakfast, it got so dark out that the street lights turned on. It rained for a hot minute and then it stopped. The sun is trying to peek through the clouds here and there, but more bad weather is predicted for tomorrow.
Time alone gives one time to think, and through God's providence and provision, I've had a lot to think about. It's been a week of getting the right thing at the right time to get me through whatever is going on in my life. The last couple of days, it's been about how the Lord gets us out of the messes we create ourselves.
When God takes the time to tell me something twice...it's IMPORTANT!
I'm learning a lot about my job, too. I read something in a book I'm reading about why the training I'm going through is so INTENSE. It's supposed to be so that when you react, it's not that big a deal because you've already been through far worse.
I also learned something else about humans in a book I'm reading. I turn off the TV and the radio in the car a lot. I didn't know it was because I need the extra brain power to focus on the why I turned down the radio. My brain has been working OT this week, and I'm grateful today for a day of rest. I ventured out to get a salad for dinner, some healthy snacks, some ibuprofen, and some juice. I also took a drive out to the ball park. I have tickets for the 17th and am going to the game with some of the kids in the class.
It's easy to find. It's right by Six Flags. I wish Jared were here. We'd so be going to Six Flags. Apparently it's also by AT&T stadium.
Big whoop.
The tour there is supposed to be pretty amazing. They'll NEVER get a dime of my money, though.
HTTR! Even in Dallas country.
I really should bring my friend Jennifer something back from here. She's a Dallas fan. But to me, that's like giving an addict money for drugs. Friends don't let friends be Dallas Cowboys fans.
Sorry Jen.
I love how God uses things for things later on down the road. If I hadn't been at a meeting I had no business being at, I wouldn't know Lefty. If I didn't know Lefty, I wouldn't have helped out with the men's conferences I was blessed to help out with. If I hadn't helped out, I wouldn't have had dinner with Brandon Cole and his parents. His father, Dr. Paul Cole was the featured speaker at our event and the night before it I had dinner with them. I sat next to Brandon and he told me about his ministry here in Ft Worth and the church he was planting here. If he hadn't told me about it, I wouldn't be able to worship with them tomorrow, which is my plan.
All because a bug went "Ka-Choo". And if you haven't read this book, you need to!
Children's story. Pfftttt
So that's my story from Fort Worth on a Saturday.
