It's perfectly clear
It's interesting to me (I'd use the word funny here but funny only in the "How did you do that?" kind of way) how God sometimes causes or allows things to happen to get our attention. I had a little moment like that yesterday. While the story is a private one, I can, in round-about terms explain the importance of recognizing what God is saying.
During the sermon at church, there was a part where I really felt like the pastor was speaking directly to me. It was explaining how two different circumstances involving the same item (in this case, Joseph's robe) were used by God to shape an outcome that affected everything. God, in His providence worked these circumstances to put Joseph where God wanted Him and twice, his robe (coat of many colors and the robe Potiphar's wife ripped off of him when he fled from her advances) was involved in advancing the story.
I have a thing going on in my own life right now where I could glean some things from this part of the message. Twice God used Joseph's clothing in a story, each time a different way, to become part of the narrative of how God moved the Israelites to Egypt.
I saw God at work in my own circumstances yesterday. A whisper from the Holy Spirit was expounded on at church. A dream was explained. Confirmation of the whisper was provided, out of God's goodness to me. A warning about another thing was given and heeded. In another instance, last week, a regularly scheduled appointment was cancelled which I think is a good thing, for some reason.
The long and short of the post today is this: To often we attribute things to chance, to luck, to anything other than the God of the Universe exerting His authority over His creation. I saw a thing yesterday that confirmed a whisper from the Spirit, that if it were chance, or just a coincidence, would have caused me to go buy a lottery ticket because the possibilities of that happening to me at the moment it did were far, far greater than me winning the lottery.
I see God at work in my life. His plans are being fulfilled for my life. As I surrender my will to His will for me, incredible things happen that just make me want to get to know God more. To Him be the glory and to Jesus, who makes a relationship with the Father possible through His incredible gift, His unimaginable love for each of us to endure the cross. Praise be to God, the Father, to Jesus, His Son, and to the Holy Spirit today.
God is good. ALL The time!
