No damage, yet...

Well, I made it through a week without trying to dismember a body part.  Last Saturday, I was in the clinic having my left hand put in a splint.  Today the splint is off and I have about 75% use of the digit in question.  When it cools down later, I'm gonna mow the lawn and fortunately should be able to return to my chore at the church next week, too.  I miss having that responsibility and take a bit of pride in being able to help out.

A dip in the pool is in the near future, too.  I might even sneak up on a cold one (but no more than two) later on in the evening.  At the store, they have ginormous marshmallows and there's a bundle of wood by the fire pit.  That doesn't sound like a bad way to spend an evening.

There's just a bit of snow left at the top of Mt. Ogden.  July 16 and snow at the top!  That's a first, but that mountain is still greener than I've ever seen it in July.  Soon, the fireworks season will be over and hopefully we'll be out of fire danger.  The little blaze two weeks ago reminded me that it'd only take one little mistake to have a good part of my neighborhood on fire.

The spring flowers are all but gone, now.  We had some really pretty yellow lilies in the front yard for a couple of weeks.  They're gone now, but will be back next spring.  The peonies are done doing their thing, too, as are the poppies.  The roses are done blooming but they'll be back in the fall for a repeat performance. In the meantime, there are geraniums and petunias doing their thing on the patio.

The back 40 is a mess but with no rain in sight, tomorrow's project involves a deck sprayer and a LOT of Roundup.  We're gonna start over. Completely over.  I think it's the best.

There are other things on my mind, but in the big "do-over", I've learned to keep those quiet.  Some things are just private.  We live, we learn, we grow.

Hope y'all are having a great Saturday.  Nobody took me up on the offer to watch the fireworks, so it's yard work and watching them from home.  That's after church, of course.
