Interpret this dream for me!
Ever had one of those really weird dreams that just seem to be full of all kinds of symbolisms and you're kind of stuck trying to figure out what it means? Let me share this with you.
What do two cars, three quarters, chasing lions, a red light, a Bible verse, and "Running to Win" have in common?
I can explain some of it. First off, chasing lions is about a book I've been trying to finish now for a while. I like the book, but I've come to understand that some days I just get overwhelmed with things and forget what I'm doing. The nice thing was that I picked up the book again yesterday and read something I really needed to read that would help me make sense of the rest of this.
The two cars are just two cars that could have been from anywhere. They weren't of course. One was from Delaware. The other from Colorado. The cars themselves have no significance. Let's face it though, it's not everyday you see a car in Utah from Delaware. The car from Colorado was just a car that was in front of me for a few minutes yesterday on my way to work. It made the traffic light. I stopped. As I watched the car drive further and further away, it seemed to me that there was something significant about it's still moving while I'm standing still.
The story of the quarters has two parts. The first one is that I don't spend a lot of time looking at my money because I never have any. Yesterday, though, I pulled out three quarters from my coat pocket. I noticed the first one was a Colorado quarter. The second one I looked at was from Wyoming. The third quarter was just a regular quarter. Odd? Only to me.
The second part of the story of the quarters is this: I put a dollar bill into a vending machine at work and bought a roll of Life Savers. I thought to myself, as I waited for my change, that the quarter I was going to receive in change was going to be significant. It didn't disappoint. It was from Ohio.
So why would any of this be so out of the ordinary? I know it's not unusual to see Colorado license plates in Utah. State quarters have been around for a long time. They're not unusual to see in your change. A Delaware plate is unusual to be sure, to be seen at the 7-11 where I buy my smokes and gas for the gas hog. I had to just happen to be there at the sev to see it. Keep that little bit of random in mind because I'm going to give you enough to start connecting the dots.
The Ohio quarter and the Delaware license plate are connected. As in: Delaware, Ohio. The Mrs. lived there before she moved back to Ogden.
The Wyoming and Colorado quarters are connected to the Colorado license plate. So is the "Running to Win" program from last night, During the program the pastor made the most off the wall comment about asking couples if they'd ever given God a chance to break them up.
In the book "In a Pit With a Lion on a Snowy Day", author Mark Batterson says "Living in prayer mode is the difference between seeing coincidences and providences. Prayer has a way of helping us realize that what we might dismiss as human accidents are really divine appointments."
So, if it all this happened in a dream, I'd tell myself to quit eating dinner late at night, get some rest, and maybe some therapy. It wasn't a dream though; it was my yesterday and to tell you the truth, I'm just kind of sitting here, still in awe of the little things that can add up to a lot, and trying to figure out one very important thing:
What does all of it mean?

Doesn't mean a damn thing. Your subconscious is persevering what your mind really wants to see.
