I followed/more about the tractor saga

I'm going to share a link with you to a radio program called Guidelines.  It's a little five minute commentary on this or that.  More often than not, I don't hear this program but I heard this particular one twice.  Once in the wee hours of the morning while most of y'all were dreaming, once again at six-thirty when most all y'all were up but I should have been dreaming.

I thought it was a pretty good explanation of how I got to where I am in my life.  As the man explains, I'm in that restful place where God is taking the things that have been trials and is turning them into blessings, in ways I never thought possible.  I'm literally in awe of God's majesty this morning and even something as simple as going outside and enjoying the beauty of green grass and blooming flowers was just kind of a special thing.

Oh, one more thing, from now on, I'll make sure to change the color of the hyperlinks in the posts so they stand out.  I hope you'll read this because it's going to play into a theme of the week that I promised to share.  I will, but the story isn't about me for once.  I'll just be the guy telling it.

I had a new development with the tractor & mower deck that I thought you'd find funny.  This one again falls into the blind squirrel category.

I'm not real familiar with riding mowers, so in my defense, that's how I missed it.  I mentioned a while ago that I'd installed the mower deck on the tractor.  Yesterday was mowing day at my house so I drove the tractor in the garage to adjust the deck and that's when I figured out I could raise it to the height needed to mow my lawn.  I used it to mow the back yard and it did OK but I still wanted to adjust the mower to the specs in the book so it was back to the garage.

That's when I found out that for all the years whoever in Indiana owned the mower, he'd had the blades installed upside down.  It never really cut the grass that well, but it sure beat it to death.  The blades are now correctly installed on the mower.  It's going to be sitting in the garage.  I've only used it for a very short time but now my little tractor which has never given me a lick of trouble isn't running well.  I had to choke the engine yesterday to keep it running.  That's not happy so I have to try and figure out why that is.  I'm hoping it's either plugs or the carb needs adjusting.

Then the mower deck can go back on.
