If you walk into my home, one of the things you'll notice is a somewhat large collection of a Pfaltzgraff pattern they no longer make on display in the china cabinet.  The china cabinet is built into the wall and the Pfaltzgraff collection takes up most of the display space.  What's not displayed takes up a lot of the cupboards underneath the cabinet.   Most of the collection has been pieced together over the last almost ten years from finds on e-bay.  I haven't added anything to the collection since the Mrs. moved out, save one thing.

One of the accessories that this pattern had was photo frames.  They're very rare to find and once in a blue moon, you'll see them on e-bay.  I paid almost $30, with shipping, for the last one I bought.

Last weekend, I found one for sale and bid on it.  The buyer, I noticed was offering free shipping.  I won the auction on the second of January, but didn't complete paying for it until Friday.  I paid $8.49 for it and had a 37 cent (I hae there's no cents key on my computer, by the way!) credit from e-bay.  I paid for it on Friday.

It came in the mail today.  The cost to ship it was $8.75.  The seller shipped it before I paid for it, included a nice thank you note, and it cost more to ship than I paid for it.  The seller lost money on the deal.  I still can't get over them sending it before the payment for it was even received, let alone cleared through paypal.

Apparently I needed a picture frame.

What I've learned lately, I'm trying to apply to the oddest thing I've ever faced.  I mean that.  Over the years I've learned that when you lose, it's best to lose and walk away.  But this time, walking away seems to be not part of the plan.  It's like being forced to watch as the decision you made has consequences you could never imagine, and having to watch them as they play out. At least I can laugh about it!

The papers say: DALE L COOPER IS NOT THE..... I had to laugh because it was my Maury moment.  I'm not making this up; they say it just like that in bold type and all capital letters, like they're shouting it from the rooftops! I wonder if all caps and bold type in legal documents have the same significance as capitalizing things in an e-mail. There's a story here about why God is always good and His timing is impeccable. I mentioned earlier I had to get a copy of my divorce decree for my employer so they can verify some information I provided to them.  That is gonna have to wait because I got some papers in the mail from the State of Utah who is stepping in to set aside a portion of my divorce decree so that it meets their needs.  They need to undo something that got done through no fault of my own. When I quit fighting the former(?) Mrs., it was this issue that I gave in on. So today, I get to send my employer the information I got in the mail and hopefully...

The Declaration they made.

 Tomorrow is Independence Day.  It's the day we celebrate the birthplace of the idea of the United States of America.  Constitution Day comes later this year.  On the 4th, we celebrate the document signed that signified that Americans wanted to be a free people, under self-rule and free from the tyranny of their king. In the opening salvo of the document, they clearly point out that the rights they believe all men should have are given by their Creator.  According to the law of non-contradiction, the truths they hold to be "self-evident" (great words, are they not?) about how the Creator of the Universe blessed them with being created equal, says that for these words to be actually true, the Creator must be.  He cannot not be and have the Declaration of Independence be a truthful document. Our freedoms in America hinge on that document.  The people then fought a war over it.  We've been fighting wars ever since to keep and protect those freedoms....
