It snowed!
There easily has to be three feet of snow on the ground up here. It's not an exaggeration and judging from the depth of the snow on top of my recycling trash can, I think it's a fair estimate. Just as a frame of reference, the pool is over 4 feet tall.
I spent about two and a half hours digging out today. When I got home from downtown, my neighbor was thinking about doing it by hand. I was thinking that wasn't such a good idea for him when I have a snowblower in the garage, so I helped him out. His son-in-law has been shoveling their driveway but he wasn't home today, so I pitched in to help.
That snowblower of mine is a beastie. And as neat as it is, and it does a wonderful job, the snowblower at the church is every bit as good and somewhat easier to maneuver because it's smaller. That and mine needs a lil' bit of air in the tires. My compressor is downstairs though and I can't move it until at least tomorrow because the grout has to set on the tile.
I did a couple of smart things during the basement re-model. I only asked for two things from the contractor; to put in a urinal in place of one of the side-by-side crappers, and to tile a little 4' x 4' area in front of the outside door so peeps can take their shoes off when they come in the door and not track outside all over the carpet.
The urinal is smart just because it'll use 1/2 the amount of water per flush than a standard toilet uses.
Besides, it's just me right now, and even if it weren't, with a few tweaks, think man-cave!
I couldn't get up this morning. I had some funky dreams. The bad guys shot the french girl, but I got away. Her boyfriend also got shot; they were in cahoots. I kind of had the Jason Bourne movie dream. I had nothing to do with the whole thing. Here's how she got shot: A phone in a phone booth in Paris(?) was ringing. She answered it and nobody replied. I was about 100 yards or so back, and yelled at her to run. About that time, two guys dressed as policemen riding a police motorcycle drove up and the guy on the back shot her dead. They sped off. I was trying to figure out what I was doing there and then the light went off... oh yeah, I'm dreaming.
That's how the movie ended.
No more eggs for dinner/breakfast at two a.m.
I did open my eyes to this lovely sight this morning. Two dogs and a pussycat on the bed. I have a king-size bed and they took up 2/3 of it. Just cracked me up. Anyway, I woke up after the movie/dream thingie about seven thirty, but couldn't drag myself out of bed until about nine. That's when the snow removal started.
Well, hope you're not out in this and if you are, please be careful. Don't drive like a moron, even if you have 4 wheel drive.
