road trip

Oh, I've got the itch.... but a little lotion will clear that up.  I was vacuuming out some crevices in the airplane last night and the insulation that rubbed against my skin gave me a bit of an irritation.

Oh, you never know what you're gonna get when you look at this, do you?

Seriously, though... I haven't had a real vacation in quite some time and boy, was I ready to run away from home until....

Well, the memo came out that if sequestration happens, your old pal Coop (and maybe some of y'all that read this thing) may be looking at every weekend being a three day weekend.  Those would be days without pay, by the way...

So instead, I just made a road trip around Ogden.  First I went to the municipal building to license my doggie.  That didn't work out so well.  The lady, I'm guessing, was not having a good day because she insisted on having a copy of the dog's rabies certificate.  I had the tag but nope, gotta have the certificate.  OK, but I said to myself, everything's gotta be difficult.  She heard me and didn't like what I said, and I had to quickly explain to her that I wasn't upset with her and know she's just doing her job, and that I wasn't trying to ruin her day.

I then went to the police station and talked to the animal cops.  Here's what I had to explain to her:  Bucket is my dog, but is registered under Wendi's name.  Then when it comes to Katie, the immigrant took her to the vet last time and Katie somehow became Kate, and June's dog instead of mine.  A quick call to the vet and the lady had it all straightened out.  She made a note on my Bucket's rap sheet that he's registered under the wife's name.  Katie got her doggie license but, and there's always a but...

A dog license is $10.  The lady asks me "You've had Kaite for a while, haven't you?"  I said yes, and that's when she informed me that there would be a "late fee".  The late fee was $20.  My response to the news:  Of course there's a late fee.

Whadda ya gonna do, though?

There's gonna be a road trip to SLC, though.  I'm gonna make a TJ's run, and maybe hit a few of my favorite stores along the way.  I might even stop at Sigfried's for lunch.
