Just stuff

If it's not already final, it will be by the end of the week, I imagine.  After all, it only took a week for the judge to agree that there's no point in waiting 90 days.

I say that matter-of-factly because it's going to play into a story I have to tell about a speeding ticket.  The details don't matter and there's no sense of joy or rejoicing over the end of something that shouldn't have ended.  It wasn't my choice, though.  It was just time.  The only humorous thing I have to say about the whole situation is this:

What aren't we going to talk about now?

The kid and I went to Yellowstone and had a great time.  We even saw bears.  Three of the kind that live in the park and one of the kind that give out speeding tickets.

Yup, lead-foot Coop got caught.

The funny thing is that I don't speed anymore.  But the story of the traffic ticket isn't so much about getting pulled over, it's where I got pulled over.

Said speeding ticket was given just about two minutes after leaving the gas station on the edge of town in Cody, Wyoming.  Now there's not a thing wrong with me being in Cody, Wyoming and I didn't do anything I shouldn't have.  Thinking about it though was a different story.  After all, keep in mind what I just told you about being done.

Anyway, we left the gas station, and then I saw the 55 mph speed limit sign and revved up to 55.  And then I got to looking around and talking to the kid and then I saw the trooper and looked down.  Yup.  65.  I saw her pull off to the side of the road so I just slowed down to make it easy on her to catch up.  She was nice about it, but gave me the ticket for the whole thing.  I didn't lie.  I told her how fast I was going.  She had me 3mph over that so I guess she did give me a little bit of a break.

If you believe that nothing happens by accident, there might me a lesson in reinforcing something that isn't ever gonna happen.  If not, then I just got a speeding ticket.  It's not the first one I ever got.

Anyway, the kid is back home safe and I have a routine to get back into.  Lawns need mowed and apricots are ready to be jammed up.  Hope y'all have a blessed day!
