on the lighter side

I'm taking a break from the stuff that's weighing heavy on my heart these days.  I'm reminded that the heart is wicked sometimes and maybe, just maybe, I need to step back and focus on other things.

The pool is open and I'm hoping by the end of the week that it'll be warmer.  It's still a bit cool but as the temps climb, that won't matter.  The water is crystal clear.  It would have been easier I think just to drain it and clean it out with the pressure washer, but in the end, it was better to clean it the hard way.  I want to get a little outdoor bench that I can keep hoses and the like in.

I found some white paint in the garage.  I had to stir it quite a bit but it's the white paint I used to pain the outside of the house.  The patio needs some love.  I have some paint to love it with.

I fixed my own sprinklers today.  I have a strip on the side of my house that runs downhill and faces west.  It slopes downhill on two sides and it's very difficult to keep green in the summer.  I found some new style sprinklers at Lowe's that I think just may do the trick, though.  I changed them out this morning and we'll see.

June has insisted I keep my "nibby nose" out of the garden.  I'm taking a rest today and obliging her.

I have a new project to work on.  I was given a gas grill that needs love.  Specifically, it needs a new burner and a new bracket for the igniter.  I have never ever seen a wing nut have the ears rust off before.  If they sell new that fits it, I will have a gas grill again.  If not, I have free dump passes that will get used this week.  I have stuff that needs to go.

I have some fishing planned with child/children.  C'mon Saturday!

It cost me $100 to fill up both tanks in my truck.

Ouch!
