God is Good!
Been a busy week. Lots happened so here's the recap:
I think I told the story of my washing machine. If not, my roomie tells me he's gonna give me a washing machine. I pray that nothing will happen to my washing machine until that happens. 30 minutes later washer dies. I'm broke. We're without a washing machine. Miss June does mine by hand (explain to her they have these things called laundromats). Ask God about replacing said washing machine and He tells me to wait. Roomie tells me that the one he was going to give me wasn't given to him, so I get an idea that I ought to try and JB weld the pump impeller back on the shaft. It works, but not as good so you can only do small loads. I couldn't fix it until I found out the plan had changed, for some reason.
Sunday before last, at church, roomie asks if I have a washer yet. Can't lie. Told him I was able to get the thing working, but again, not well and only for small loads. He tells me about a washer he's going to buy for me the following Thursday. That one gets sold out from under him, but roomie kept a promise to me and went and bought a used front loader washer! It works great and I am so thankful to have it.
About a month ago, a guy at work gave me a couple of twin beds. He also asked if I wanted a ping-pong table. I don't. But my roomie has a young child so he did. Saturday, the guy asks me if I wanted to pick up the ping-pong table. Later on I was telling him about my new-to-me washer. Front loader washers, over time, can develop a little bit of a smell. It's norma. I was telling him mine had one and what I'd done to clean it. He told me he had some washing machine cleaner packets and I could have them when I picked up the ping pong table. God is good like that.
I kept seeing things about dragging our feet for the things that God wants us to do last week. Mine is to build a fence, but I didn't see it in the moment. All I know is that in June, I got the idea that I really needed to fence off the yard. My baby boy gave me a gift card and told me it was for a fence. Yesterday, I was convicted that I need to get started on the fence. When I'm done here, I'm gonna start building the gate. That was the thing I was dragging my feet on.
I wrote a post last week about getting yelled at (via the interweb). I asked God to do something for me and I really believe He said He would. But I always want confirmation from His word and brother, did I get it. Same lady that yelled about moping around delivered what was an exact answer to the thing I asked God for, Scripture verse and all. Wow! God is pretty cool that way!
Sometimes silence is Golden. Sometimes it's just plain yellow. Silence this last week was golden. I found myself mentioned in a conversation on Facebook that I just chose to ignore. There would have been a time when the exact opposite would have happened. God is Good.
I asked God last night a simple question: When? And for the rest of the night, this "suggested post" popped up on Facebook that may hold that answer....especially because Facebook kept suggesting it all night long (5 times from lunch to quitting time and first thing this morning).
I believe.
Well, that's it. God provides and He's used the people in my life to give me a lot of things I really needed. Waiting on God for a washing machine turned out to be a great choice and I'm so thankful for the front loader! We've been washing everything....blankets, sofa covers, all kinds of stuff that wouldn't work in the top loader! The smell is gone! We're so blessed and grateful!
