Red light, green light

I had to take Chevron on a road trip to Salt Lake today.  I was leery because last summer, Chevron had a bit of an overheating problem at speeds above 55.  Today's journey was at pretty much 70 MPH and no problems.  I've changed the heater core and that seems to have helped some with the temperature.  Also, it's greatly helped having heat available in the truck.

Something else I did which I forgot about was to run the defroster all the way to Salt Lake.  When the defroster is engaged, it also engages the compressor for the air conditioner.  The truck still ran fine.  Again, grateful for that.  Wish I'd have remembered though that the air conditioning compressor was engaged because that kills the gas mileage.

As I was heading down highway 89 toward the mouth of Weber canyon, I got caught up in a traffic jam.  It was caused by one of the traffic lights about a mile away from where I had to stop.  As we inched closer, I could finally see the light flashing red, which means the light is a 4 way stop.  Still closer, I noticed a maintenance crew working on the box which controls the light.  When I got to the light, it was red.  I stopped.  I looked both ways, then I looked up again right before I went, the light turned green!

My life kinda reminds me of that little adventure today.  Go a little. Stop.  A little more.  Stop.  Slowly, but surely, a day at a time, but always forward.  The little thing made me laugh.  I still think it's hilarious!  It had to turn green at some point.  I just see the humor in it that it's when it was my turn today.

So I write this little story tonight with a little bit of hope.  Things that happen like this to me sometimes; not always, but sometimes; point to things happening in my life and I'm hoping that the stop and go a little bit is over and maybe God is putting the green light on to have things move a little more smoothly and quickly.  I hope.

Boy do I hope.
