I hope this is the answer you're looking for!

I don't know who I'm writing this to, but whoever it is, I'm hoping that the Bible verses I'm sharing tonight will help.  I can't explain why I needed to write this other than the story I'm telling you about it.

I often speak of little random(?) things that happen in my life.  This little blog is going to be about another one of those little things.

First off, let's start with the text for this message.  It's Romans 10:9-17 (which will open in a new window when you click the link so it's easier to switch back and forth when reading!)  and it's all about Salvation.

I saw Romans 10:9 earlier in the week.  Someone I know shared it on Facebook and I thought at the time it was a little random because there wasn't a comment to go with it.  Just the verse.  I actually looked up the verse to get the context of that particular passage.  You know me, context is key.

I thought as I read it, 'yup'.  These scriptures sum up what it takes to find Salvation from the Lord Jesus in a nutshell.   Believing on Jesus is the beginning.  The really neat things happen as you delve into God's Word and apply it to your life.  Salvation is free but always remember the hefty price that Jesus paid for our Salvation. It's a free gift from God; Jesus paid the price in His blood.  I started writing a blog on this very topic earlier but gave up because I couldn't quite find the right words until just now.  I know I believe with my whole heart that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for my sins, was buried and on the third day, was Resurrected by God.  Sharing these truths with someone seems very important right now.

I mentioned a while back that I'm working on a discipleship program.  I have a mentor that I meet with and we discuss lessons from the little program I'm involved with.  It's neat and as it so happens, the topic of this week's lesson is Salvation.  It uses the metamorphosis of a butterfly as a metaphor for the changes that take place.  It's also a great example of one of the mysteries of God's creation.  Anyway, one of the reinforcing verses for the lesson is, well, you probably figured out, Romans 10:9 and on through verses 12 & then verse 17.  Again, context is key so I just added the whole passage in the hyperlink.  Here's why:

And this is no word of a lie, either.  I flipped on the radio a while ago.  I left the bedroom for a while and when I came back in to go to bed, I noticed that "Unshackled" was on.  I missed most of the program but heard the tail end of it where the man telling the story referenced Romans 10:9-10 when he was talking about Salvation.  OK, once I can see.  Twice, um, I'm listening and I'm already there.  Three times and I'm sharing the story!

I know I'm saved by God's Grace and maybe another day this week I'll talk more about that but tonight it's about Salvation.

Y'all know I was in a bad place when I found Grace.  I found a peace and forgiveness and that empty hole in my heart, the one I thought could never be filled, the one I always seemed to be chasing an answer for came through prayer.  That hole was because God was missing from my life, because I didn't know Jesus.  It's important for me to share this tonight and I may never know exactly why.  I was ready for bed.  The lights were out and me and the animals were hunkering down for some sleep when I heard this verse for the third time.

Listen, I don't know who's going to stumble across this post.  I hope that God will bring it to the person who needs it.  I don't know what's going on in your life, but I know this:  Whatever it is, it's not too big for God to handle if you'll turn to Him.  Jesus is there, waiting for you.  Just talk to Him.  Tell Him what's on your heart.  Trust in Him; He is trustworthy!  And he offers eternal life.  I only wish I could tell you what He's doing in my life.  It's so much more than the stories of the pussycat.  He's there for you, too.  If he could love a sinner like me, He's there to love you too.

He died on the cross for all of us!  He's there waiting for you tonight, wherever you are, whatever you're going through!  If you need to talk to a spiritual counsellor, bbnradio.org has a great chat ministry who can help answer your questions.

Whatever it is, whoever you are, and whatever point you've reached, I can tell you that there's nothing too tough for Jesus and He will forgive.  He will transform your life.  He's done that for me and countless others who've come to know Him as Savior.

And I'm praying for whoever needs to read this.  I'm hoping that whatever you're facing, you know you don't have to do it alone.  Christ is there for you!
