wisdom, please?
If you were curious, or creative, you may have figured out what the worst thing that happened to me yesterday was.
And I remembered to give thanks.
I opened my Bible to the book of 1 Thessalonians and then the dogs started barking. The mailman came and I want to share this with you.

The headline says: How do I give thanks in spite of my circumstances?
1. Give thanks to God from our will and not our feelings.
2. Remember to be obedient to His will "in all things give thanks for this is the will of God for you" (1 Thess 5:18)
3. Be assured that "all things work together for good to them that are called..." (Romans 8:28)
4. Choose to see God's hand in the circumstances you are in and to focus on the promises of a mighty God. (Phil. 4-19)
Like I said, I made some choices and these choices are in line with this piece of wisdom. I needed that today.
I woke up today, so I'm in God's will for my life today. I kept a promise I made to someone else today. I'm still praying for, and asking for prayers for wisdom. In part, that prayer was answered.
If you figured it out, you might be asking yourself Why? It's not for me to know, I guess, right now, and the best way I can explain that to you is to share a verse the Lord shared with me last night. It's from 1 Peter 3:15 which says, in part, Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give them the reason for the hope you have.
I don't often cherry pick scripture, but in this case, it's appropriate because I can do so without changing the meaning of the entire text, which I suggest to you dear reader, is worth taking the time to read. My hope isn't in man (or in this case woman), my hope is in Christ. If these circumstances were not God's will for me, then He would change them. I believe He could. He knows what I'd do if left to run the show, even for a half-hour. That's probably a lot of why He's not doing that right now, and I'm turning an ear to Him to listen.
And remember too, that God forgave me, so I choose to forgive others. And I also thought of something else I hadn't before. You're sharing with the experiences I'm living through by reading my blog. They are bringing God glory and honor, in my opinion, because you're walking with me on this incredible journey of faith. The bigger picture just may very well be that someday, as I look back and share with others the experiences of this tumultuous time in my life, I will say to them, "God is so good! This is where I was, bankrupt, house falling apart, no money in the bank, and this thing and that, and God led me out of it!"
Right now, though, we're just at the part where I have to be led through this. Thanks for letting me share my journey with you, and please keep praying that God gives me the wisdom to follow Him and not me.
