And then there are days....

I'm almost done at my sister's place.  I finished a project today that I think I should have finished years ago.  I installed a sprinkler timer for her.  She had the valves in the ground already but no timer.  What I didn't know was that she had a timer in the garage.  A hundred feet of sprinkler wire later and the water now comes on by itself.

I had to fix a couple of leaks too.  One was fixed with prayer and the tightening of screws.  Prayer came in when tightening the screws the first time didn't seem to stop the leak, but prayer helped because tight screws were able to be tightened just a hair more than before.  Prayer works.

Even for simple things.

I had a discussion later on in the day with the former Mrs. Cooper.  She got mad at me because she thought I was mad at my son because the lawnmower wouldn't start.  I was not happy the lawnmower wouldn't start but it was nothing my son did.  I explained to her what I was not happy about was something else entirely.  My son felt bad that he broke the mower or something but I kept telling him he didn't.  I got it home and took out the spark plug.  It could stand a new one but it didn't look horrible.  What did was the air filter.  It was completely clogged with dried grass.  I had a new one in the garage and as soon as I changed it the mower fired right up.  My son was happy.

The ex, not so much.  She made a comment that it was like we were still married.  I laughed at that because I had told her a week ago that it had been ten years since we split up and it felt like it was only about ten minutes.  Some things don't change.  I don't like things about her; she doesn't like things about me.

Speaking of change, I found another penny in her driveway for the missions jar.  That brings the total there to 36 cents.

It's filling up.  Slowly, but it's filling up.

I had some yummy chocolate cake today.  Birthday cake had to wait until today.  Birthday dinner, too.
We're having dutch oven ribs.  We almost didn't because someone (it may or may not have been me that was guilty!) left the dutch oven on the patio the last time we had dutch oven ribs and didn't clean it out!  I thought it was cleaned out.  What a mess!

Oops.

As I write this, I'm listening to a program I enjoy.  Tonight's subject is God's punishment for disobedience.  Yup.  Yes, Yes, God does punish those He loves as sons (and daughters).  Good reminder.

The pool required some maintenance too.  The water got real cloudy and I'm trying to get it real un-cloudy.  It's supposed to be a hundred three later on in the week.  I'm gonna swim cloudy or not!

It's been a busy week and next week is kinda shaping up that way, too.  We have six more days of mandatory overtime.  I'm gonna be happy when this is over!

Well, that's it gang!
