well, here we go again!
I love surprises sometimes. Sometimes, not so much but I'm also one to never look a gift horse in the mouth.
I wore out my string trimmer. Flat wore it out. I may have ruined the engine on the thing, too. I don't know yet. I forgot to mix a bottle of oil into the trimmer gas when it spilled out during last week's adventures. My son used gas from the right can when he filled the thing up. His old man forgot to mix the oil in it. I'm always so careful to put exactly one gallon of gas in the can so it can be mixed properly. And then I forgot to add the oil. I thought the gas looked a little pale when I filled up the tank. It quit running while I was at the tail end of finishing up a yard for a lady at church. I pulled the rest by hand and couldn't figure out why the silly thing wouldn't start. Now I know.
If I can get it running again, it should be OK.
I had to tell y'all that to explain why I was at the Home Depot this morning. I got the trimmer attachment and a different sprinkler head for my front yard. I have part of a side yard in the front that's only about as wide as a park strip and can't keep it watered because the sprinklers I have don't adjust down far enough. So I made my selections, checked out, and was walking out of the store and to my truck and that's when it happened.
We all turn wide, I suppose, when we're getting ready to pull into a parking spot and the lady driving the white car did that and almost ran me over. I had time to move and so did she so no harm, no foul. I was on the right side of the parking lot and she swerved into the other side to turn into the parking spot.
But would you care to take a guess as to what license plates she had on her car?
I can't make this stuff up. I almost got run over in the Home Depot parking lot by a white car with Oregon plates.
Anyway, I got home and there was another surprise waiting for me. I wanted to mow the lawn this morning. Really, I did, but when I got home, my yard was full of volunteer tree branches that had been cut down by Miss June. I asked her to get some dump passes and she did. They expire today. She thought I wanted them to haul off the yard stuff. I explained to her that the green waste was open year 'round and free for Ogden residents and that I wanted a dump pass to get rid of a sofa that the dogs ate.
Surprise. So I adjusted my yard maintenance plans and finished toppling the rest of the volunteer trees and now I'm headed off to load up Chevron and get rid of them. It's something that was going to get done next week anyway, so no big deal. It was a nice gesture and I'm getting better appreciating those things!
Have a great day1
