And how's your weekend?

I had been putting it off for far too long, but today was the day.  What was left in the basement is, for the most part, on it's way to whatever landfill Weber county utilizes.  Two truckloads of stuff so far.

I just spent the last hour sorting through DVDs and boxing them up.  There are nine boxes of kids DVDs.  I have to purchase a box for the adult DVDs.  Not nearly as many, but they'll make their way to our church rummage sale, unless they're not having one and then it's off to the Savers.

Or the DI.  I don't really care which.

I picked out the Veggie Tales DVDs for someone I know who has kids.  If they don't want them, they will also wind up at the church.  I have quite a few that I'm just going to put out for whoever wants them.

I don't really want any of this stuff.  I mean that.  I have my own stuff.  I certainly didn't want to haul it off.  I have one or two loads left that are going to require some assistance from able bodied adult male children.  Good thing I have one or two of those.  And I found one, and only one thing I will most likely keep for myself in this mess:

A dutch oven.

Everything else is going, going, and/or gone.

The weather is supposed to be crap tomorrow, so I will get started on cleaning the kitchen floor down there.  It's nasty.  And once that's done, I've vacuumed up the big chunks of stuff with the shop vac.  And removed the cobwebs.  Get the junk out, vacuum all the remaining carpets, and then it'll be ready for sheetrock and paint.

This was a hard thing for me to do.  I don't want any of this stuff, as I said, and I wanted the person whose stuff it was to come and get it.  But it didn't and I don't think ever was going to happen, so I just had to put my shoulder to the wheel and get it done.  Most of it was just junk anyway, but it was somebody else's junk that got abandoned in my joint.

So, that's all from Lark Circle, where you never know what's going to happen next.  This 40 day prayer thing is really cool.  I can't wait for the workbook to show up to see what I've missed.  God is doing stuff.  I'm trying to do my stuff while He's doing His.
