Super! Bowl!
That was a whale of a game; one that turned on one key play, and one for the ages.
But the game was nothing compared to the trophy presentation. Because men of faith, stepped out and acknowledged the God who made them.
The coach: "all the credit and glory go to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!"
The man who caught the winning touchdown: "Glory to God!"
The MVP quarterback: "First off, ALL Glory to God!"
The TV announcer on the winning QB "he told me earlier in the week he believed the Lord put him here for 'such a time as this'".
The Eagles won. Heaven is rejoicing because these four men just did for Christianity what we all should be doing: Giving the glory to God!
I'm excited about that! I really am! My sons are Philly fans. They saw that and I hope it stands out in their minds. Those were very public professions of faith on national television that ascribe credit where it was due!
We often don't do that enough in our own lives. I don't as much as I should; especially when things get weird, and they often do. I got reminded today that my days were ordered long ago. Long before I was born, because God isn't bound by things like time. He knows. He knows the words you're reading before I ever form them. Frequently, His Holy Spirit helps me form them. Often times, that same Spirit helps me delete things too.
See. Glory to God for wisdom to USE the delete key! I mean that.
And for the wisdom to follow. And for the wisdom to stay silent. It's hard sometimes, but better. I gave up trying to make people understand my life a long time ago. I can't so why should they. I got told I was "looking" for things. No. Not really since I read the passage of Scripture about itching ears. I even took a facebook break for that. Things, as it turns out, will find me. God has a way.
A for instance: I saw a young woman at a store last night named Mattie. I have heard of Maddie, but not ever seen Mattie. Beautiful young woman; young.....and well, I'm not, and well, you know the story, but it was just odd to me that when I woke up, I had an e-mail about Utah's first female State Senator. Her first name was Martha. She went commonly by "Mattie". I wanted to ask the young woman if her name was short for something but I don't chat up sales clerks often, certainly ones that are way out of my league or age range. (and I was buying a dog hair remover brush, so there's that). Question got answered this morning without having to ask someone.
I guess I needed to know this.
I don't need to know that young woman.
I'm staying single for a while, anyway. I asked for answers. I think I have them. I think this stuff this week means something. I think God allowed it. I think I'm in a better position to judge what could happen if I didn't think that than anyone because I've run through smaller stop signs before; which is why I don't now.
Glory to God for answers! And thanks for a terrific game.
