Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then...
I like this little saying. It seems like it's appropriate every now and again. Some people attribute getting lucky to fate or just plain dumb luck, but in my case I like to use little things that happen to point out that God does work in my life. When He does, and He still does, believe me, I like to share so that you may also know that God is and that He still cares for us.
Here's my little random for the day. When I felt better on Monday morning, I cleaned out my garage. I have some things to get rid of. Just junk, mostly. One thing I'm taking to the church for the rummage sale they're having the weekend after Labor Day (shameless plug!). But there are a few things that won't fit into the garbage can. I was going to take it to the transfer station on Friday. That costs money, though. What doesn't, though is the big green dumpster we can get for neighborhood cleanup. My neighbors did just that and the dumpster will be there on Monday. They weren't supposed to get it until next month, but someone canceled and our neighborhood got moved up on the list. I had a need and through no doing of my own, the need gets met without me having to spend money I really don't have.
It may not seem like much, but it is. It's pretty nice to know that God will see a need and just take care of it for me. I didn't even ask.
I know, I know. You're probably saying to yourself: Coop, it's a dumpster. It's not a miracle. Two years ago, I would have agreed with you and just figured it was just good luck. I don't believe in luck, in random, or in coincidence anymore. I've seen too many things over the last year to know that God meets our needs, even when they're not very big. It's recognizing He does that so many of us fail to do. And I didn't want to fail to do that tonight.
