oops
So, what was I laughing about? Just some of the weird things that have happened to me this week.
I heard something worth briefly sharing on the way home from work. In a nutshell, I had something explained to me about how satan can do things to us without our knowing it. Wanna understand this for yourself, go to oneplace.com and listen to the short version of today's "Running to Win" program with Dr. Erwin Lutzer. I own what I did a couple of years ago, but as I listened to the brief, but systematic way Dr. Lutzer describes the M.O. of our adversary and I found myself saying "Hey, that's what happened to me!" It's worth the time to listen.
I want to share with you this, too. God does work in our lives and when we get what we want, I think we acknowledge that. But what about when things don't go our way? Do we see the same hand of the Master at His work? What about when he uses delays, roadblocks, and quite honestly, takes us down paths we wouldn't have chosen for ourselves? Are you one that goes willingly or do you fight? Have you ever been in that situation in the first place?
I was thinking about this today, how sometimes we can't see the forest for the trees. A friend of mine made me think of that today. Some really good things financially happened to him recently, but I remember the time when that was anything but the case. I've known the man for years and think of the times that things were pretty awful for him, through no fault of his own. Not so much now, though and I'm happy for him. It kind of proves a point about perseverance.
I heard something else, too, the other day that I'm reminded of today. Sometimes, the way up is down. God uses all kinds of circumstances to bless us. Even the bad ones, I can't say that enough.
As to the thing that made me laugh the most yesterday... well, let's just say that I see the Master at His work. I'm content enough for now to just leave it at that. I can't help but chuckle because God has a marvelous sense of the ironic and sometimes it's just kind of funny how He does things.
Well, gotta run. Have people to meet, doggy bombs to clean up before the snow, and maybe if there's time, I'll drag the mower across the lawn one more time to get the leaves sucked up. Have a great day everyone.
