Listen to this!
Really, I want you to listen to this. Over the next couple of weeks, on the radio program Running to Win (the short version) the topic is 10 things about God. There are a lot of lies out there. I touched on some of them the other day and thought this was a timely program to share with you. Dr. Lutzer can explain things to you so much better than I ever could. His program is one of my favorites. The first time I ever listened to Running to Win, the topic was about what to do when you blow it.
Let's face it. I really blew it.
I want to share something else with you too, in a way I never thought before. I was listening to another program earlier yesterday morning called Insight for Living. Pastor Swindoll said something worth sharing. It's not a direct quote; just a paraphrase of what he said, which went something like this: We all have a choice to make regarding Jesus, and the Bible. We become responsible for that choice when we hear the Good News. As he talked about the Great White Throne of Judgment, I thought about what that experience might be like.
As Pastor Swindoll talked, I could visualize the books being opened and each person giving an account of himself or herself. Then the only book that will matter is opened, which is the Book of Life. If your name isn't in there, you're dispatched for eternity into the Lake of Fire. That was where I was headed before I found Christ. Honestly, I think my name may have been written in that book in pencil at first, but God has a way to fix in us what He wishes to. I know it's there for perpetuity now. I know I still have a long way to go in my Christian walk, but I'm excited about the next step. (more about that later on this week!) But I know I've been saved by grace! God's Grace and Christ's love! I know I will still have to give an accounting of myself for the things I've done, but what a blessing to know that those sins are forgiven.
Both programs are broadcast on BBN Radio at 99.5 f.m.. You can find them online at oneplace.com, which is a great resource. Running to Win is on at one a.m. and I think either 7:15 or 7:30 a.m. Insight for Living airs at 10:30 a.m and 6:30 p.m. Streaming it may be easier for my friends in SLC.
I hope you'll listen to the program(s). Pastor Lutzer is going to dispel some of the false things people (just like I used to) believe about God. I think you'll find the program insightful. Remember too the thing about being responsible for what you believe about God and Jesus. I'd also suggest that if you haven't been reading your Bible lately, that this is a very good time to start. If you don't have one, please let me know via e-mail.
And as always, thanks for taking the time to read the blog.
God Bless,
Coop
