Stewardship
I said something the other day that wasn't right. I didn't lie but the reasons bad things kind of started to happen again had absolutely nothing to do with speaking to my dear friend Tami Jo. Those things seemed to happen in the past to keep us apart but what happened Monday had nothing to do with her. I just didn't know it at the time.
They happened to let me know about stewardship. I wanted to take a class on stewardship and I am. Just not the class I wanted. My instructor has far far better lessons than any man could give and that's what started on Monday.
The truck issue is attributable to a lack of stewardship. I checked the oil the other day but didn't check the other fluids. That's on me. My truck is the only vehicle I have and I need to pay closer attention to her needs. Chevron is a girl because I say so. She's also a tank and dependable. I need to keep her that way.
The getting torn up by the pussycat was lesson #2 in stewardship. Stewardship also means being wise in using everything God gives me, including vacation and sick time. I had sick and vacation time to cover the injury. I should have a lot more than I do. I need to be a better steward of how I use my time.
The dryer not working was a quick reminder that I need to care for what I have. If I'm a good steward of what I do have and take care of things when they break, sometimes it will be an $8 fix. I have to order a new wheel for the dryer. They make them still and they're less than $10 before shipping. I will order it tomorrow and we'll be back in business.
I'm really looking at these lessons in a different light. What I thought was punishment for one thing was a little bit of reckoning for some unrelated matters. Being a good steward applies to all things. They're not mine; they're given by God for me to take care of. I'm not poor at it but I could certainly do better. I asked God to help me in this respect and He is. Sooner or later, I'll get some book learning on the subject, but for now I'm being introduced to some areas of improvement the way that works best for me...
And that's something to write about!
