more on understanding

I don't understand everything that happens in my life.  I don't think I'm supposed to.  I was reminded of this today from a little booklet called "Our Daily Bread" the church provides its members.  It's a daily devotional book.

Today's was important to me.  The passage talked about whether or not things that happen in life are bad or good.  The material in the book is copyrighted so I can't share with you the exact words, but if you have a minute you can read it yourself by clicking here.

We can't understand every reason things happen in our lives.  For some things, I don't think there is an explanation we as human beings can understand.  Sometimes, things just aren't what they appear to be.  This is a lesson I've learned the hard way in life.  These days, I don't judge or make assumptions.  I ask questions.  Sometimes I just have faith that God knows the reasons why and that's good enough for me.  I guess that's what faith is; believing in Him and trusting that his plan is perfect.

That trust, at least for me, brings this inner peace.  In times of uncertainty, I just give the problem or uncertainty to Him and trust that He will show me the way, provide the answers I need, or at least be with me as I go through life.  If you don't understand what I'm talking about, I'm sorry because there's really no way to describe it better than that; nor the magnitude of it.

One more thing I'd like to share with you on this wonderful Friday afternoon.  It's a song I learned as a kid but will explain why I share what I do with you these days.  You can listen to it here.

I want everyone to have the joy and peace that I do.  It's the greatest gift you'll ever get and it's just there for the asking.  The things you leave behind once you truly receive it are, quite frankly, things you'll never miss.

Bless you all,

Coop

It's a verse I've shared with y'all before, but applies to what I'd written. I told you it was going to be the theme of the week.
