Laughter
I laugh quite a bit these days. My life is good and getting better by the day. Sometimes I laugh when I see something random and my reaction to it is "REALLY?". It's a good thing because it's out of happiness.
Today though, the wife made me laugh. I, being me, have to tell you a couple of stories, to tell you the one I want to tell you.
I've always had to have the "best". I don't know why and I think I've talked about it before. If I had the money and saw something I wanted, it was mine. It was a habit Wendi tried to break me of, by implementing the 24 hour rule. Anything over $10 was to be thought about for 24 hours unless it was a clearance item and we had a need for it. It helped some, but not a lot. I spent like there was no tomorrow because I never stopped to think about tomorrow.
Next story: I used to drive Wendi nuts with cash. If some was laying around on the counter I always assumed it was mine, whether or not it was. I didn't know it until later that this was a bad habit of mine. I never had cash because every time I did, I spent it.
Next story: I don't like bread all that much, but lately I've been craving some bread. Wendi used to make the best rosemary bread ever in this little bread machine we had. I've really been wanting some bread lately so today I wanted to buy a bread machine. I was looking at them online and I had the funds to buy one. It wasn't really a need but it's hard to heat the house up so bread will rise properly in the winter. I kind of had a need for one.
I was getting ready to go out and couldn't tell you why this thought popped into my head: Thrift store. OK, not a bad idea so I went to the thrift store today. They had what I wanted... a bread machine. It wasn't as fancy as maybe I wanted or didn't have the french bread setting I'd like to have had. But the thing was $5.95. The lady at the register at the thrift store let me have it for $5. I didn't ask her, that's just what she charged me.
I'd had a $5 bill in my wallet for about a week and a half. It was left from some cash I had when I went for my New Year's trip. I had $7 for a week but spent a dollar on this or that, I can't recall what for over the weekend. It worked out great. $5 for the bread machine.
I'm kinda hesitant about buying things like this from a thrift store because you never know why someone donated it. I asked the wife about it, but before she could text me back, I just took a chance and bought it.
I told Wendi the story of the bread machine and the $5. I want to share her response with you.
to the $5: 2WEEKS? (caps and all)
to the whole thing: who r u?
When I was done chuckling, I texted her back my answer: Coop 2.0
