The best time for sports!

I missed the games yesterday.  I forgot to DVR them, too, so I'm just out of luck.  I did see the play in the Pittsburgh/Baltimore game where everyone thought the play was dead, except that one guy who smartly picked up the football and ran to the end zone.

It seemed the whistle didn't blow.  When everyone else quit, one guy, one very smart guy, didn't and scored an easy touchdown.

I really enjoy playoff football.  All year, everyone was talking about Atlanta who met the resurgent Packers and judging by the score, that was just a beat-down!  I was surprised the Steelers/Ravens game was as high scoring as it was for two teams noted for great defense.

I'm excited to see what happens with the Seattle/Chicago game today; equally excited about the Jets/Pats game, too.  A 7-9 team is two games away from the Super Bowl.

One thing I really missed was my fantasy football league this year.  It's fun to talk a little smack with your friends during a friendly competition.  Our league is a bit competitive.  If you don't finish in the top 8, you get sent to the "D" league.  With everything going on in my life and my friends lives, I kinda missed out on the "D" league this year too.  Probably a good thing for me... I had a bit of stuff going on that was taking my attention.  Maybe next year, I'll get my "D" league invite.

I like football, but it's not my passion.  I'm more of a baseball guy.  I saw an update the other day from ESPN which said "Only thirty days until pitchers and catchers report."  To someone who loves the game, those are promising words.  Everyone starts out even and you hope against hope that the Dodgers will actually have a decent rotation and solid bullpen, built around some good power hitters and key position players.  And then there's always the hope that the THIS will be the year the American League quits playing softball (last time I checked, 10 on a line-up card was softball) and makes their pitchers pick up a bat.  Of course, your hopes and expectations may vary.

College basketball is also in full swing and I really need to start paying some attention to that.  March Madness will begin before you know it.  I work so much I don't have time to watch a game here or there and I need to remember that I'm paying for the DVR service, so I should use it.  June figured out how it works and it mostly gets used to record her "stories".

Monday is a holiday.  If the snow melts, I'm going to clean up after the dog (YUCK!) and pull out the ice fishing gear and get it ready for "Eskimo V".

That's it for today.  Have a great day, y'all!
