Just made me laugh...

I do still have a sense of humor.  It doesn't come out much but it's still there.

A lot of weird things started happening to me just about a year ago.  A lot of sad things at first, then a lot of really weird things that became really weird when Bucket, the wondermutt ran away from home.  I was telling the story of how I got a ticket for violating the leash law last year when Bucket got away from me and the dog catcher brought him back home with the leash still attached to his collar.  To me, that's irony and completely funny!

That was before Buckey ran away and I wrote the story of my dog, "Max".

Today when I was driving down the very south end of Harrison Blvd, I saw the message on the sign for the vet clinic there.  It asked me, and pretty much everyone else if "Max" was up to date on all his shots.

At this point, I'd say probably not.  Just thought it was funny to see that sign today.  I didn't know Max was such a popular name for a dog.

What I've learned lately, I'm trying to apply to the oddest thing I've ever faced.  I mean that.  Over the years I've learned that when you lose, it's best to lose and walk away.  But this time, walking away seems to be not part of the plan.  It's like being forced to watch as the decision you made has consequences you could never imagine, and having to watch them as they play out. At least I can laugh about it!

The papers say: DALE L COOPER IS NOT THE..... I had to laugh because it was my Maury moment.  I'm not making this up; they say it just like that in bold type and all capital letters, like they're shouting it from the rooftops! I wonder if all caps and bold type in legal documents have the same significance as capitalizing things in an e-mail. There's a story here about why God is always good and His timing is impeccable. I mentioned earlier I had to get a copy of my divorce decree for my employer so they can verify some information I provided to them.  That is gonna have to wait because I got some papers in the mail from the State of Utah who is stepping in to set aside a portion of my divorce decree so that it meets their needs.  They need to undo something that got done through no fault of my own. When I quit fighting the former(?) Mrs., it was this issue that I gave in on. So today, I get to send my employer the information I got in the mail and hopefully...

small things

 The town is small, tucked away up a river valley.  There used to be a store there, but it's closed.  There is a larger town 15 miles away, with shopping and gas stations and the like.  At the top of a hill in this town, sits a church.  It used to be a schoolhouse but a half-century ago the school was deeded to a group of townspeople that decided to start a church for their little community. The music is from the hymnal.  There are no drums, no electric guitars, spotlights, or smoke machines.  There is a pianist and an organist, and they play the hymns together.  There is no choir.  There are two ladies who lead the singing.  The only evidence of modern technology are the two screens in the sanctuary and the computer they are connected to so powerpoint slides can be used during the service.  Other than that, it's very much like taking a step back in time to a day when Sunday services were more simple.
