Here, fishy fishy fishy!

My weekend is looking great!  I'm going to be with a bunch of my friends that I haven't seen in a very long time and get to do some fishing. No cell phone, no internet, just fish! I'm excited, but a little nervous about the weekend.  Some of my friends are, too.  That's OK.  I understand why.

I'm just going to fish, hang out, maybe play some cards.  I might even laugh at a joke.  I'll probably step outside and have a cigarette (I'm trying, and the doctor at Hill gave me a plan to quit which I'm going to try) or two with the smokers of the group.  I plan on catching the most fish, the biggest fish, but hey, they should be used to that by now!  I plan on talking a little bit of smack, too.  I'm going to have a couple of beers over the weekend.  I might even bring my cool little coffee pot with me.  I'm going to have fun.

If my friends are worried about me hanging out, they shouldn't be.  I'm still the same ol' me.  I just don't do some of the things I used to.  I'm not going to judge you to tell you you're going to hell for something.  Really, the only thing you should see different about me is that I'm very happy, even in trial and tribulation and that I smile a lot these days.  And really, the only thing you'll hear from me about my faith, unless you ask is if I hear the word dammit used in conjunction with God's holy name, or I hear Jesus Christ's holy name without the word "praise" in front of it.

What they won't get is a lecture.  What they will get is a friendly reminder that whatever upset them most likely had nothing to do with either.  Or I might just come over and ask them what I can do to help them with the problem.  That's usually what I do at work.!

What you also won't see is me crying in my beer.  My life is not what I'd like it to be, but it's pretty good.  The parts I don't like are just a lesson for me to learn so that when I get to where I'm going, I'll be ready for what waits for me.  I might even show you a picture or two of Wyatt if you'd like to see them.

If you ask me about things, I'll answer you. I hope at least one of you does.

And about the fish.... I'm so ready!

To my friendsDon't worry.  We'll have a great time this weekend.

  1. If you had a good time hanging with friends Why will Eskimo V be your last? Just a curiosity question... Can someone really change that much that people they've known for years become obsolete?

  2. Yes someone can. I still love my friends. They're more than just casual acquaintances. I've lived with many of them, eaten with them, seen the world with them. I've spent more time with them than most people ever will with their friends.

Will I still see my friends? I hope so.
