Just when I thought I was out....

Out.  Done.  Finito.  Last call.

Yup.  Sure it is.

If you don't believe in coincidence, you're going to love this little story.  But I gotta tell you this story first: (of course!)

At the end of May of last year, the postman rang my doorbell.  He had me sign for a piece of mail that contained divorce proceedings papers that Wendi filed.  Two weeks later, I opened a statement of benefits from our insurance company which told me that Wendi was pregnant.  At the end of June, I met a really nice woman in Colorado and what started as a friendship was developing into something more.

In early September, I started hearing a song on the radio.  Then all hell broke loose on my blog, for those that remember that ugly time.  That pretty much put an end to my relationship.  Then my dog Bucket ran away and the people that found him called him "Max".  Well, that was the start of the little odyssey I've been on since early October.  Now on with the blog.

That journey came to pretty much it's final resting place on Saturday night, and I announced it to the world on the blog yesterday, which led to many queries (sorry KP) about what happened.  I can't tell you but I want to share with you what's happened to me this afternoon.

I have struggled with the whole divorce thing because in my heart of hearts I believe that divorce is against the will of God and if I'm a Christian I need to not only believe, but live the word.  In times of distress, I often pick up my Bible for comfort and the words speak to me.  They're alive to me and today I want to share with you my at random Bible readings:

First was Psalm 119:57, which starts out with "You are my portion o' Lord; I promise to obey your words"  The rest of this part of Psalm 119 pretty much talks about obeying and following God's law.

Second comes 1 Corinthians 7, a chapter devoted to marriage.

Third:  Malachi 2, containing verse 16 which says, in part "I hate divorce" says the Lord...

The three times this afternoon I've picked up my Bible, that's what I read.

The song, to which I referred is Alien Ant Farm's Smooth Criminal, a video Wendi linked on her old myspace page back when she used to like me.  It was kind of one of those songs we both liked.  I heard this song today, and it wasn't coincidence I did.

After all of this (I'm nursing a hell of a headache), the only thing I could come up with was the "just when I thought I was out" clip from the Godfather III movie.

BTW, both are on my Facebook page.  The video is a classic.

My next move:  do absolutely nothing and see what happens.
