I wonder, do you know Him?

Please watch this wonderfully inspiring video before you finish reading today's blog.  It'll make more sense if you do.

My King.  What a sermon!  I couldn't top it if I wanted to, and I don't.  But I'm going to tell you what my King is NOT!

My King, nor His Father, are a curse word.  If you say His holy name as such, you don't know my King!  I was amazed by how many people do this.  I was HORRIBLE with this.

My King has nothing to do with a popsicle stick!  My King is not a Bobble Head Doll!  My King is not a punch line to a joke!  As the man said, He's the King of kings and the Lord of lords.  None of these things brings glory to Him when we disrespect Him.   I wonder, do you know Him?

If you don't; you will:

 From Romans 14:11--
 It is written:
   “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord,
‘every knee will bow before me;
   every tongue will acknowledge God.’”

Now, on with today's story:

Some things seem to run in themes.  If it's something I'm to learn I'll hear it in more than one place; from more than one person.  The theme the last couple of days is kind of along the lines of understanding how God works.

I heard this on the radio a couple of days ago and have been trying to work it into a blog because I found what the speaker said to be true, from the experiences in my life of late.  She laid out the idea that if you understand something, it's probably not God working in your life.  The point was driven home to me tonight in a bit of a Bible lesson my pastor gave me to help me understand about how God talks to us and uses us to accomplish His work.  Today's lesson touched on the theme of how we can't understand how God works using conventional human understanding.  I get this because when I see what He has done in my life, I'm in awe of how subtle the things are that happen.

I don't know, nor understand all the things but one thing I realized earlier this week is that despite my best efforts, God has put me in a situation that makes no sense to me, nor probably you either.  I don't have to understand why.  I just realized He has His reasons and as long as I follow His word, things will work out as they should.

I hope you notice something; a bit of a trend.  As I share with you some of these stories, I hope you see what I do, which is that for the things that seem out there, seem hard to understand, or even borderline(?) crazy, the more you know, the less far-fetched they tend to seem.  At least to me, anyway!

What I learned from the lesson I just finished is that maybe, just maybe, the reason I'm still in the situation I'm in isn't about me.  Maybe, just maybe, there's another reason I don't understand...
