Overboard!

This is going to be a short post today.  I have to get ready for church soon and I have to clean out the pig-sty that my car has turned into.

I have some thoughts this morning about getting carried away.  Sometimes, people do get carried away.  I know a few of my friends wonder if I've fallen over a cliff with as much talking as I do about my faith in Christ.

On CNN.com this morning you'll find a prime example of people getting carried away by faith.  You can use this example to understand why we have an Electoral College for the office of President of the United States.  Our forefathers knew that there was the potential for some smooth-talking guy to win people over then seize power.  They figured that the masses wouldn't be educated enough to know the difference and if I remember my history right, this is why the Electoral College exists.

The primary thing happening in my life is the unusual situation I find myself in, so that's what I talk about.  I truly believe God is helping me through this, and I hope by sharing my experiences with you about this, you find something useful for your life.  I found five things on two pages in the Bible yesterday and shared them with you, and how those five things applied to my anything-but-ordinary life.  We all have struggles and issues and by sharing mine with you, I'm just hoping you have something to fall back on when your struggles become overwhelming.

Next week, I'm gonna come up with something about what we're willing to die for.  Something struck me yesterday when I was reading my own blog (I edited yesterday's post so it reads better) and I want to talk about it.

Things are a bit out of control in our world.  Money is tighter now than it was last week because of gas prices.  Food prices are up and will continue to rise if gas stays up there.  The government is broke.  Times are tough.  When it starts taking a toll on you, remember that there's a place to tun to for help.  God's always there, waiting to hear from you.  That's not an extreme message.  It's a message of love and hope.
