Is it that odd?

I like sharing things but there are some things best kept to yourself, which is what I'd like the person or persons who shared whatever bug I've got with me to remember.  I'm ill.  I'm drinking orange juice and tonite will be a Nyquil night.

As y'all know, odd things sometimes happen to me.  This little story happened last Sunday after church.

I went to Lowe's to pick up some sprinkler parts and flowers.  As I was making my way to the car, I noticed a piece of plastic on the ground.  I know I had a $5 Lowe's gift card I used on Sunday from a survey I filled out at the Lowe's in West Jordan so I just assumed that's what it was.  But I picked it up and someone else is probably glad I did vs. someone else who's less honest.  Someone had dropped their Lowe's credit card.

I didn't think twice; my cart and I went right back into the store and I patiently waited my turn behind a man who was returning a barbeque for a defective igniter. (I would have just taken the igniter back, but that's just me)  The lady behind the desk was going to tell me that she'd be with me in just a minute when I told her I just needed to hand her the credit card I found in the parking lot.

"Oh, God Bless You Sir", she said.  "You're a good man," she said.  She was genuinely shocked as was the other lady working with her.

Has our world really gotten to the point where what should have been a no brainer (it was for me) is so rare that folks are shocked?

Hey, I lost a debit card, not once but twice.  First time I left it in a gas pump in Salt Lake.  Second time I left it in an ATM at Macey's in South Ogden.  Both times it was returned and I was so thankful.  Of course, I would do the very same thing.  I was just surprised at the reaction of these two women because they were genuinely shocked and amazed.

Odd, don't you think?
